When it comes to maternity and birth announcements, I never really had an opportunity to shoot one. But when Emmily and Jada asked me to take some photos of them revealing the news to their family and friends, I couldn't turn it down. It's times like this that remind me of why I'm a documentary photographer and wouldn't choose another career in the world over this.
Emily and Jada wanted their photos in front of a nice fall background, with falling leaves and lots of trees. For a birth announcement, we thought Branchbrook Park in Newark, New Jersey would be a perfect location. It had rained for a week straight up until a day before our session - fingers were crossed! On the day of our session, we arrived at Branchbrook Park early in the morning. The way the sun peeked through the trees and color it gave to the scenery was nothing less than magical. Here are some highlights of my time with the beautiful new parents to be.
